When using the "Hostname in LAN" option in Devices -> Gateway -> Advanced, be aware of the following potential pitfalls:

When the CacheDrives are on separate subnets but on the same VPN, make sure that NetBIOS Broadcast is disabled for the VPN on your router. Possible symptoms of having NetBIOS enabled is slow file access and unusually long Revit file open times.
