Q.

Is your subscription month to month?

A.

Yes, month to month, no long-term commitment. You can cancel at any time. We also offer a money-back guarantee if service is cancelled and purchased hardware is returned within the first 30 days of service.

Q.

Do you have an option to Prepay?

A.

Yes, we support option to buy a longer subscription and higher amounts of storage upfront. Please contact sales here.

Q.

What is Default Storage?

A.

Morro Cloud is included with CloudNAS Essentials, Business, and Enterprise and is the storage option provided by Morro Data. Accounts using Morro Cloud will have their data stored by default in Amazon S3 or Wasabi Hot Storage. The default is selected when the account is created and cannot be changed afterwards.

Q.

What is egress/download?

A.

Egress is any data downloaded from the cloud. Egress will be incurred when the File is not already in the CacheDrive being accessed. If users access files that are already on the CacheDrive, the file will be accessed from the CacheDrive and no additional download is incurred. This saves on download and internet bandwidth when many users access the same file locally.

Q.

How much storage is included with the access fee?

A.

With CloudNAS Essentials, Business and Enterprise, there is 1TB of storage included with each account. The default storage can be chosen to be hosted on Wasabi or S3. Additional storage is charged at $39/TB per month or $19/TB per month for S3 or Wasabi respectively.

Q.

How are Storage Charges Calculated?

A.

Storage charges are based on how much data is stored and how much data is egressed/downloaded from the Cloud. Storage usage and egress is calculated daily. We believe customers should only pay for what they use not for the amount of users they have. This makes sense for storage since the most important thing is how many files you are storing not how many users are accessing them.

Q.

Do I get 1TB of storage and 1TB of download per device?

A.

The 1TB or Storage and 1TB of Download is per account. It is not per device. For example, if you have 2 devices in CloudNAS Business, you will get 1TB of storage and 1TB of download per month.

Q.

What is Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS)?

A.

Morro Data understands that some customers already have cloud object storage accounts and want to leverage the Morro Data File Services to access data in those accounts. Customers who Bring their own accounts just pay the Morro Data File Services Fee.

Q.

I have seen the pricing for storage and download at Amazon S3 and Wasabi Hot Storage and your costs don’t match, why is that?

A.

Amazon S3 and Wasabi provide raw Object Storage. To access the object store you need a client. The Morro Cloud price includes the File Services we provide on top of the Object Store. Morro Data file services convert the object storage into a complete global enterprise file system that includes the SMB file server, local file caching, single namespace across all sites, multi-office file sync and replication, file locks, protection, versioning, deduplication, centralized multisite management, security, Active Directory, user and file permissions and many other features.
