When creating an account with Morro Data, you will need to add the CacheDrive cloud storage gateway during the sign up process. The process will attempt to automatically detect the device in your network and display the device in the card Find my gateway.
If your gateway does not show up, it's because the system is not able to detect your gateway. Here are some things to be aware of when detecting the device:
- Make sure the gateway is powered on and connected to your network The CacheDrive does not include a network cable. Please connect the CacheDrive to your network with a network cable. It's recommended to use a cable capable of support Gigabit speed such as a CAT6 cable. It can take up to five (5) minutes for the gateway to complete it's initialization process. You will know the process is complete once the hard drive indicator light stops flashing.
- Power cycle the gateway The CacheDrive gateway has a security feature that makes the device not discoverable if it's been powered on too long without being registered. To reset the discoverable process, power the gateway off and power the gateway back on. It can take up to five (5) minutes for the gateway to complete it's initialization process. You will know the process is complete once the hard drive indicator light stops flashing.
- Make sure the gateway is on the same network as the computer creating the account. The installation process uses the network your computer is on to attempt to detect the gateway. If the gateway is on a different network or on a different subnet, the system will not be able to detect the gateway. If you are installing the gateway that is on a different network, then use the manual installation process.
After trying each option and allowing the gateway time to complete the initialization process after being powered on, click on the Refresh button next to the option "Locate on Network".
