When creating an account with Morro Data, you will need to add a CacheDrive cloud storage gateway during the sign up process. The process will attempt to automatically detect the device in your network and display the device in the card Find your gateway.

If the system cannot detect your gateway, a few possible reasons include:

  1. The gateway is not powered on and connected to your network

Connect the gateway to your network (with Internet access) and make sure it's powered on. It can take up to five (5) minutes for the gateway to complete its initialization process. You will know the process is complete once the hard drive indicator light stops flashing.
  2. Power cycle the gateway

For security purposes, gateways are only discoverable for eight hours after boot.  To make the device discoverable again, power off the gateway and power it back on. It can take up to five (5) minutes for the gateway to complete its initialization process. You will know the process is complete once the hard drive indicator light stops flashing.
  3. Make sure the gateway is on the same network as the computer creating the account.

If the gateway is on a different network or on a different subnet from the system running the installation process, the system will not be able to detect the gateway. The device can still be added using the remote setup procedure. In the Add Device panel, select "Locate by UUID". Obtain the UUID from the sticker on the bottom of the device and enter it into the UUID field. For virtual machines and CacheDrive in Cloud, contact your Account Manager for the device UUID and enter it manually. Then click Add.

After trying each option and allowing the gateway time to complete the initialization process, click on the Refresh button next to the option "Locate on Network".
