The Diagnostics functions allow you to run various tests on your HC devices and VMs.


To use the Diagnostics functions:

  1. Go to the Morro Edge app.
  2. Click HC Devices in the left side menu.
  3. Select a device.  At the bottom of the page, you will see a section for each available component in the selected HC device.  Generally, you will see the HC device itself and the WAN Gateway.  If the device also has a CacheDrive VM and Compute VM, they will also appear in this section.
  4. In the Action dropdown for the component, select Diagnostics.




Diagnostics Functions

The availability of individual diagnostics functions depends on the type of component.  When certain diagnostics functions are selected, another field will appear for additional input.




HC Device

The HC device has the following diagnostics functions available:

  • Ping Target - Enter a value and the device will attempt to ping the target entered.
  • Trace Route to Target - Enter a value to run a traceroute to the target.
  • Get Route Table - Show the routing table for the device.
  • Name Resolution - The device will attempt to resolve the entered name.
  • Get Disk S.M.A.R.T - Get disk health information from the device.
  • Get Latest Health / Statistics Report - Get health and statistics for the device including uptime, free memory, load average, disk usage, etc.
  • Wi-Fi Status - Get the status of the built-in Wi-Fi.



WAN Gateway

The WAN Gateway component has the following diagnostics functions available:

  • Ping Target - Enter a value and the WAN Gateway will attempt to ping the target entered.
  • Trace Route to Target - Enter a value to run a traceroute to the target.
  • Get Route Table - Show the routing table for the WAN Gateway.
  • Name Resolution - The WAN Gateway will attempt to resolve the entered name.



CacheDrive and Compute Element

The CacheDrive and Compute Element components have the following diagnostics functions available:

  • Take Console Screenshot - Display the current console screen.
  • Physical CPU Usage - Show the amount of physical CPU used by the VM.
