Administrators can configure which gateways have access to a network share. Controlling access at the gateway level provides a physical control to shares at the local network level. It also provides support for location-aware access security to cloud-based assets.


Gateway Access Permissions

Set the share permissions for a gateway from the DEVICES page or the FILE SYSTEM page.


DEVICES

Select the Gateway for which you want to manage the share access permissions by clicking on the device badge to open the manage gateway panel.


In the "Accessible Shares" section of the panel, you can see icons for the shares for which the gateway has access along with the access permissions for each share. A green dot on the icon indicates Read and Write permissions. An orange dot incidates Read-Only permissions. If the gateway has access to no shares, then the area will be blank.


Click Edit access to open the "Accessible Shares" panel. You will see a list of shares that are available in the system. Select the access permissions for each share and click the "X" to close the panel. Click SAVE to apply the settings for the gateway.


FILE SYSTEM

Select the Share for which you want to manage access permissions from the gateway by clicking the share badge to open the manage share panel.


In the "Gateway Permissions" section, you will see icons for the gateways that have access to the share along with the access perimssions for each share. A green dot on the icon indicates Read and Write permissions. An orange dot incidates Read-Only permissions. If the gateway does not have permission, it will not show up in the area. If there are no gateways that have access to the share, then the area will be blank.


Click Edit gateway permissions to open the "Gateway Permissions" panel. You will see a list of gateways that are available in the system. Select the access permission for each gateway and click the "X" to close the panel. Click SAVE to apply the settings for the share.


Setting Permissions

Set gatway access as Read/Write (RW) or Read-Only (RO). To set the gateway to have no access, uncheck both Read/Write and Read Only.
