The Device Status page shows device status information.

Selectors

Use the Gateway and Item dropdowns to select the information to display. And these items are grouped into Device, Network, Queue, Performance and Historical. The following status items are available:

Device

S.M.A.R.T

Send a S.M.A.R.T command to the disks and show the response. Virtual disks do not support S.M.A.R.T commands and will not show any results. This is the same result as MCM > Device > Maintenance > Diagnostics. Please also refer to this article.

Active SMB Sessions

Display information about the current active SMB connections and locks.

Network

IP Address

Display information about the network interface including IP Address and Statistics.

Network Configuration

Display network configuration is static or dynamic, and its configuration. Information is the same as MCM > Device > Diagnostics, so please also refer to this article.

Time Synchronization Status

Display time synchronization status. You can specify an NTP server address by only Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). Please also refer to this article.

Ping

Send ICMP ping packet to specified IPv4 (or FQDN) address. Information is the same as MCM > Device > Diagnostics, so please also refer to this article.

Traceroute (ICMP)

Trace route by sending ICM packet with TTL. Max hop is 30. Information is the same as MCM > Device > Diagnostics, so please also refer to this article.

Routing Table

Display network route table. You can specify a complex route table by only Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). Information is the same as MCM > Device > Diagnostics, so please also refer to this article.

DHCP Renew

Renew configuration set by DHCP. (This is equivalent to Windows' ipconfig /renew.) Please also refer to this article.

Flush DNS cache

We cache DNS (Domain Name System) name resolution results. Using this command to flush the cache. (This is equivalent to Windows' ipconfig /flushdns.) Please also refer to this article.

DNS cache statistics

Display DNS cache statistics. Please also refer to this article.

Resolver Status

Display the current setting of the DNS resolver. Please also refer to this article.

Resolver Query

Query to DNS resolver. It tells name resolution is done by cache or network. Please also refer to this article.

Resolver Query for Service Record

Query name resolver for service.

Queue

Queue Status

Show the sync queue status.

Queued Events Summary per User

Display queued events statistics per user. Information is the same as MCM > Device > Diagnostics, so also refer to this article.

Queued Events Summary per Share

Display queued events statistics per share. Information is the same as MCM > Device > Diagnostics, so also refer to this article.

Show Top of Queue

Display oldest queued events. Information is the same as MCM > Device > Diagnostics, so also refer to this article.

Show Top of Queue (with Priority)

Display queued events ordered by priority. Information is the same as MCM > Device > Diagnostics, so also refer to this article.

Show Largest Files in Queue

Display the file create or update events in the upload queue, sorted by file size. Information is the same as MCM > Device > Diagnostics, so also refer to this article.

Performance

Upload speed test to cloud

Test and display the upload speed to the selected cloud provider & region.

Download speed test from cloud

Test and display the download speed from the selected cloud provider & region.

Historical

Data volume throughput

Display data volume (used for cached files) throughputs over time.

Volume Usage (Allocated)

Display the disk allocation for the root and data volumes for the selected period of time. For performance, the file system allocates space for regular data and metadata ahead of time but is not necessarily used immediately. Also after the file is deleted, allocation may not be deallocated immediately.

  • Data Volume - Used to store cached data and files that have not been uploaded yet.
  • Root Volume - Used for the operating system, database, etc.

Volume Usage (Used)

Display the disk usage for the root and data volumes for the selected period of time.

  • Data Volume - Used to store cached data and files that have not been uploaded yet.
  • Root Volume - Used for the operating system, database, etc.

Historical SMB Sessions

Display SMB Sessions over time. You can use this information too if you need to increase the allocation of vMemory, vCPU, etc.

Historical SMB CPU/MEM

Display SMB server memory and CPU usage over time. You can use this information too if you need to increase the allocation of vMemory, vCPU, etc.

Network/SMB/HTTPS Traffic

Shows network, SMB, and HTTPS traffic for a period of time.

  • Network Traffic - Shows all network traffic.
  • SMB Traffic - Shows network traffic for SMB sessions.
  • HTTPS Traffic - Shows network traffic connected to cloud resources.
  • Rx is data received by the CacheDrive.
  • Tx is data sent from the CacheDrive.

For a typical file create, you will see 1) Rx traffic on SMB, then 2) Tx traffic on HTTP.

CPU/Memory Usage

This item shows typical CPU and Memory utilization for a period of time. If the graph shows a constant heavy load, consider upgrading the hardware.

Disk IOPS

Display the number of I/O operations per second over a period of time.

Queued Commands

Shows the number of commands in the request queue waiting to be executed.

Historical Sync Queue push/pop

CacheDrive has an upload "queue". This chart displays the rate of queue push and pop. Typically LAN speed is faster than the internet, so the upload can grow as more files are copied to the CacheDrive. You can monitor the queue progress through this chart and the "Queued Commands" chart.

Time zones

For Active SMB Sessions, Queue Status, Queued events summary per user, Queued events summary per share, Show top of the queue and Show largest files in the queue, you can use different time zones to display sessions according to your needs.

  • Use UTC Time Zone
  • Use Local (Browser) Time Zone
  • Use Time Zone Set in Preference
  • Use Device Time Zone
