The Manage Caching option is used to download files to the CacheDrive or to remove the data files from the CacheDrive. The solution will still automatically manage caching for the account.

The caching operations can be performed on folders or on a group of files.

Managing Cache for Folders

Enable the Manage Caching option by selecting a folder from the file manager.

Click Manage Caching to open the manage cache folder window.

Use the "Select a Gateway" dropdown list to choose the CacheDrive for which you want to manage the cache storage. The system requires the CacheDrive's information to complete the caching operation.

Click CHECK to obtain the information about the CacheDrive.

CACHE OUT the Folder

Cache Out will remove the data portion of the files from the CacheDrive leaving behind the stub files. This will make room in the cache storage to copy or transfer files to the CacheDrive.

FETCH the Folder

Fetch will download the files in the folder to the CacheDrive. If there is not enough room on the CacheDrive, the system will evict the data portion of the least accessed file (file in the CacheDrive that has not been modified for the longest time).

Downloading files may take time depending on the number or size of the files.

  • "To be synced" files are recently modified files waiting to be synchronized with the server.
